Based at the foot of the Teign estuary Newton Abbot is a thriving market town with great rail links to both London and Cornwall. The Railway Station is the biggest in south Devon and used to be the main station during the 19th century; many of the cottages in the town were built during the Victoria era for the railway workers. The town itself has many traditional roots and the daily market and strong landmarks pay testimony to this. Newton Abbot is expanding greatly and becoming an important venue for commerce in South Devon. As well as attracting some of the larger names in retail such as Asda, Tesco's, Currys, Sainsburys and B&Q's. Newton Abbot offers a range of exclusive shops such as Austin's department store offering haberdashery and traditional service providing for the needs of the whole community. The thriving weekly livestock markets take place every Wednesday and with the daily indoor market and a range of fetes and car boot sales there is sure to be something for everyone.Newton Abbot offers a range of fine dining offering the best of the world's cuisine from traditional English “pub grub”, to Italian, Indian, Chinese and of course Pizza and Fish and Chips to name but a few.
Newton abbot is a rapidly expanding town with a great sports centre already open and a new state of the art hospital which is under development; this town is going from strength to strength and making its mark firmly on the map.

Ogwell
Ogwell is situated just outside the market town of Newton Abbot and is divided into East and West Ogwell. This village has a very traditional feel to it with its narrow roads and quaint cottages it is full of charm and delight. Follow the windy incline up to the village green and enjoy the views across to Dartmoor National Park and take in the feeling of being on top of the world. Just a short stroll down the hill leads you to the village hall and local pub. The Jolly Sailor Inn is a traditionally thatched building offering local food at affordable prices in a friendly atmosphere. The local church and shop can be found within just a few minutes walk making the heart of Ogwell easily accessible.
For those wishing to commute Exeter airport is approximately 34 km away with a ferry port in Plymouth (about 50 km) and with one of the largest train stations in the South West at Newton Abbott just around the corner you should be able to travel with ease.
Ashburton
Ashburton is nestled along the Devon express way ideally located between the South West’s two largest cities Exeter and Plymouth. With just a short drive on the motorway you can be immersed in either the traditional Naval Port of Plymouth or the Historic city of Exeter both with a full range of shops and great transport links to the North as well as airports offering a range of destinations.
Ashburton is a sleepy town which rolls off towards the wide open spaces of the Dartmoor National Park with the opportunities to walk, ramble, Pony Trek, or take part in a range of exhilarating water sports. Alternatively sit by the river at Two Bridges and enjoy a traditional Devonshire cream tea whilst watching the world go by. Take a stroll through Ashburton and you’ll be transported back in time with its magnificent town houses and quaint cottages providing the perfect setting to create the ambience of yesteryear. Visit one of the small coffee shops and enjoy the view or take a stroll through the beautiful granite archway that leads to the church. Ashburton has a strong community spirit and this shows through the support the town has for many of its local events from carol singing to maypole dancing and for those wishing to fill their day with something more the town offers activities from yoga to Salsa and many more.
