Kingsteignton is situated at the head of the river Teign between Teignmouth and Manaton and is an excellent base for commuting or travelling to nearby Exeter and Plymouth, with their excellent rail and air connections.
This beautiful village is rumored to be one of the largest in England and offers a full range of facilities and services to match. The village has its own butchers, Post Office, library, swimming pool, petrol station as well as a range of hotels, pubs and restaurants. There is a wide range of activities based within the village from aerobics to yoga, needlecraft to bowls, rainbows to brownies and swimming to woodcraft to name but a few ensuring that there truly is something for everyone. The locals are friendly folk and are proud of their heritage. The local Ram Roast fair is held every year and dates back to a drought in the middle ages when there was not enough water to baptize the babies and a sacrificial spring lamb given to the Gods to stop the drought. Kingsteignton is a flourishing town rich in local history.
